WHITE SPOTS ON THE
GROUND WHERE A HORSE URINATES
QUESTION: Hey, my horses are
peeing some sort of white crystals or powder on the ground???
They are fine and I had the vet out and he just shook his
head? You don’t notice it when the urine is coming out but
later, like now in the spring, the ground where they peed has
sort of a white powder on that spot? Help, Please?
ANSWER: Your horses are excreting
"Excess Protein" in their urine. It is often really noticeable
in the spring now when the snow is leaving. From feeding a
lot of protein all winter, you will see patches of fine,
whitish powder on the ground where horses have urinated.
