My hat is off to all
Veterinarians who work so hard for so many long
hours each day for the "Sake Of Animals"
and for "Animal Health and Welfare".
Many Rural, Country Vet's in private practice have
no idea what a DAY OFF IS!!! Weekend and night time
Emergencies wreck havoc with their lives. It is
time to thank these Veterinarians, especially the
ones who may be the only practicing Vet in their
rural community so answer the phone each and every
time on weekends and after hours.
Here is the "Oath"
which Veterinarians abide by. Sadly there
are people out there proclaiming that they
and/or their practices are better?
From Horse Dentists to Holistic Medicine Touters
to the "Touch and Heal" types. Often
they charge far more than a Veterinarian would
to treat your animal. And without any
extensive "University Education". AND sadly no
Code Of Ethics they must follow
in order to treat your animal. To many are
simply Incompetent and do not have enough
Training. They are not Vet's and should not
pretend to know more than Veterinarians. Yes,
they have their place in helping our Animals. I
applaude many of them but they are not educated
enough for serious things.
The
Veterinarian's Oath
Being admitted to the profession of
veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my
scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit
of society through the protection of animal
health, the relief of animal suffering,
the conservation of livestock resources, the
promotion of public health and the advancement
of medical knowledge. I will practice my
profession conscientiously, with dignity and in
keeping with the principles of veterinary
medical ethics. I accept as a lifelong
obligation the continual improvement of my
professional knowledge and competence.
Thank you so much to all the Vet's who
work so hard with my many animals. Gayle Bunney
